This concentration can lead to eligibility for certification as a rehabilitation counselor (CRC) after passing the required exam and graduating, and eligibility for licensure as a rehabilitation counselor (LRC). ?Frequently, the rehabilitation counselor or specialist is part of a team of physicians, psychologists, social workers, and other professionals who evaluate the problems of individuals and assist them to achieve maximum self-realization and independence.?
Employment is readily available for well-trained professionals in state vocational rehabilitation programs, private rehabilitation services and agencies, public and private hospitals, institutions, and clinics.
Eligibility & Entry Requirement
Academic Requirements:
- Submit one official transcript from each college or university attended
- Official transcripts must be evaluated by any member of the NACES
- Submit essay about significant life experiences that have contributed for development of interest in this field
- Submit updated resume that should include college activities, leadership experiences, work history, community involvement etc
- Submit two letters of recommendation
- Applicants are recommended to complete an interview
- Submit English Language Proficiency test scores
English Language Requirements:
- TOEFL: minimum 550 in PBT; 213 in CBT; 80-90 in IBT
- IELTS: minimum 7.0
- PTE: minimum 53
- MELAB: minimum 77
