I was looking to explore emotion in cs. I was ranked #1 in innovation and at the time I was rejected for my top choices due to low grades.
Course Curriculum
ASU lives up to the name of the biggest party school in America but is an engineering school and you can definitely find all kinds of people there because it is such a big school. I did a lot of hackathons which helped me to get my first internship and I also have a lot of research opportunities. Getting a job on campus is also easy.
Exams
GPA: 3.0+, TOEFL, IELTS, or any test of English proficiency. SAT: 1200+ is required and I got 1310 on my first attempt and 1400 on my second attempt. I was perfect on TOEFL and had a very low score on my IB but a predicted score of 35/42.
Placement
They were definitely good but at best I visited few career fair but never found any company which stand for me. The starting salary for a CS major for ASU is USD 65,000 and it has about an 80% placement rate which is not bad but it is just my major.
Internship
I am currently doing an internship for INTROHM which is a start-up that I joined just before leaving ASU.
Events
There is plenty to do around campus. You'll never be bored at ASU. Every ASU building had good Wi-Fi and the library and facilities are extensive and provide a great environment to work and be in a favorite part of campus.
Fees
I paid a fee of around 40,000 USD.
Scholarship
No, I didn't receive any scholarship.
Faculty
I believe the faculty-to-student ratio is 1:12 which is not bad if I am not mistaken but for the largest classes such as the first few CS classes and CALC in maths the classes are huge but the TAs are super helpful.
Hostel
The building facility was good I shared a two bedroom dorm with 4 girls and we had a shared bathroom and a living room. Our dorm was a bit far from our classes as ASU had problems with overcrowding in dorms and the carpet was difficult to clean but other than that I loved the experience. my dorm free was included in my college fees
