At the time when I was a psychology major, the university of Illinois had an amazing post graduate program for masters in psychology that would benefit my long term career goals as well as being close to home and a reputable big ten university in the Midwest of the United States
Course Curriculum
My course syllabus was typically accurate and did not deviate from our in class learning, most of my courses were in economics and some statistics and did not provide any industry or research exposure
Exams
My scores, ACT 29/36, unweighted gpa of 3.85 and weighted gpa of 4.0 on a 4.0 scale, I completed two advanced placement tests in psychology and two dimensional fine arts
Placement
The university hosts a career fair each semester and you can often find a specific career fair tailored to each college such as college of business or engineering to find more tailored opportunities in your profession, there is both a general career center as well as major focused career offices that assist students with career direction,
Events
Campus life is simply amazing at the university of Illinois, Green st is a sprawling commercial avenue for students from restaurants to bars and shopping, there is diverse apartment options all over campus, there is arguably a surplus of student clubs and recreational activities for your interests, the gym facilities are large and contain many amenities, the campus itself is beautiful
Scholarship
No
Faculty
The faculty to student ratio can vary based on the college and department, the more typical general education courses or intro courses can at times have between 100-500 students for a single professor who has a staff of graduate student TAs to assist, in my advanced level economics courses, there was typically 30-35 students to one professor who likely taught 1-3 sections and had a handful of TAs to assist them, professors at the university of Illinois are typically incredibly approachable and great personalities to assist students with questions/issues
Hostel
Campus dorms were mixed depending on your dormitory freshman year but are all around good, there was great campus service for maintenance and the dining halls have average to good food, nothing bad
