Purdue University - Challenges and assistance

M
7.8 /10

Good school and close to home Greta for my original major. Purdue has a nice campus but not too distracting or crazy. Some nightlife but still easy to avoid or participate in decoding on what experience you want.

Course Curriculum :

The challenging but fair curriculum in college. All of the challenges will help you learn. Some courses are not applicable but more are very helpful in advancing career knowledge and readiness into post graduation

Exams :

SAT ACT is the exams I took before attending college. I do not remember SAT score but ACT was 30 score.

Placement :

I was offered a job a month into my senior year so worked very great for me. But not everyone is so lucky. I think most Purdue students get a job very easily and very well paying but of course, there is no real guarantee.

Internship :

Yes, but I never participated in the program. I understand it?s hourly pay. I interned elsewhere for hourly pay. Some schools and offices and departments offer internship programs for students at Purdue

Events :

Football and basketball games are huge events, Grand Prix and graduation are large events and school breaks so spring break and winter break are the biggest travel times. Purdue does have a better orientation.

Fees :

Tuition is based on state residency or country citizenship so more expensive for out of state or international students. Lots of grants and scholarships available for students and under certain income for certain size families can get full grants.

Scholarship :

I was given some grants but did not apply came automatically. Depending on income and other factors you may receive.

Examination Structure :

Exams are usually difficult, especially in large lecture-style classes. They are taken in Elliot a giant theater usually and students are given lap boards instead of desks. Kind of degrading and weird experience.

Faculty :

Varies but usually good. Some professors, especially in business school, were extremely rude and unfair but consumer science they all tend to be personable and willing to help.

Hostel :

Off-campus is more affordable and much nicer if you can have a car. Many do offer a free shuttle to campus though. But easier to work with a car as bus lines don't come that often if off campus. But dining halls on campus are great.
