The distance to home was rather close, and I was still able to use my Bright Futures Scholarship money, as well as gain a local scholarship to the University! In addition, my close friend was planning on attending this college, so it helped finalize my decision.

Course Curriculum

7

The course curriculum isn't difficult, as much as there is a heavy workload sometimes. The different forms that the matter is presented helps each individual student learn better, as some do in-person class, live lectures, recorded lectures, group assignments, individual research, etc.

Exams

Before gaining admission to the University of Florida, I only took the SAT one time and received 1370 (710 in math and 660 in reading/writing). This helped me get accepted into the University of Florida. Once halfway through, I took the GRE exam to be accepted into the Master's program, but am still awaiting that score as I recently took it!

Placement

9

Amazon, JP Morgan, Proctor & Gamble, JCPenney, Gartner, IBM, Wells Fargo, Raymond James, Sun Trust, Exxon Mobil, Local Law Services, Fisher Investments

Internship

Our college provides internships, but I have not applied for any, so I am unable to speak on behalf of that side! They have Gator career websites strictly for undergraduates and graduates alike to help them gain admission into new jobs and experiences.

Events

8

We have lots of cultural events celebrated, such as Black History Month, Presidents Appreciation, UF commemoration, etc. We also take into account the sports on campus, so we "win" as a university and "lose" as a university.

Fees

The fees are broken down by tuition, housing, and food/transportation/miscellaneous. Tuition is $212.71 per credit hour, and housing on-campus is dependent upon the style you get and the location in proximity to campus. Some places are more expensive if you have your own suite/bedroom or whether you share a bathroom with a roommate or the whole floor. It's roughly $550- $900 for housing I would say, mine was roughly in the middle. Food was cheap for me because I didn't eat a whole lot, so I also didn't get the meal plan since it was almost just as expensive as tuition. As for transportation, I had my own car and only had to get gas maybe once a month because everything is so close, and you can also walk or take the bus system for free. Miscellaneous is dependent upon your phone/electronic usage, hobbies, etc. Personally, I had a very cheap first-year, as I am an avid saver, not a spender.

Scholarship

Financial aid can be tricky depending on your luck. Financial aid doesn't always go through, so you have to stay on top of your account and visit the aid office frequently upon the beginning of the semester to hammer them about your money. Bright Futures was rather simple, especially if you have the Academic Scholars one because you get full tuition and a $300 book stipend. Bright Futures was automatically added to my account. The private, local scholarship had difficulties because UF's system was down and only took account for partial people who received scholarships, but I haven't had any problems since.

Examination Structure

The exam structure varies from class to class. Some exams are administered online only (based off of your own integrity), some are proctored online (so you need to use a webcam/microphone), and some are in-person only. Most of the core courses are taken in-person late at night for me around 8 p.m.

Hostel

We cleaned our dorm weekly in the kitchen and bedroom areas, but a cleaning crew would come in once a week, for us, it was Fridays and would clean our bathroom. Nothing extensively was cleaned, as it was only 5-10 minutes tops, but they did spray and wide down the sink/mirror.
