The communications program is one of the best in CA and it was close to home and very cheap. Compared to other colleges it was the best choice for me. I applied to basically all of the UCS and also CSUF and Csulb. I like being near where I grew up, and since my parents were moving to a different city I knew I would have my space.
Course Curriculum :
I love the course curriculum so far.
Exams :
APUSH 4 SAT 1490 ACT 33 there were no minimum scores but I got these and got it in to the school. There is no minimum to get into the school, but of course a lot of the time your gpa matters more and the test less. In High School I didn’t have the highest GPA so I knew I had to raise my SAT score to get in.
Placement :
There are job fairs almost every month, I have currently not started to look into getting a job but I know from professors that many of CSUF students get hired because of our internship program and our networking groups.
Internship :
Yes you can apply online, it’s very easy and flexible and you can do homework a lot of the times on the job. You need at least a 2.0 and an average shift is about 2-4 hours and max you work 15-20. There is no other criteria.
Events :
All national holidays. That’s honestly about it. Of course we have things like club rush and the sort that everyone goes to, but other than that not much
Fees :
I pay around 3500 a semester. I pay it all by myself. There are scholarships and loans obtainable through the school, but I don’t need it. I work a decent amount in retail and it pays my college for me. I’m not sure about anything past that because I don’t apply for anything. It totals to 7000 dollars a year.
Examination Structure :
Finals at the end of the semester. 2 hour blocks
Faculty :
I think communications teachers are great for the most part. I so far haven’t met a single person that wasn’t agreeable or reasonable and I can’t say that about other departments. Professor Thompson is my favorite as she is also a career center worker so she helps students focus on specific job types.
Hostel :
Off campus because rent on campus is stupid high it’s like 2000 a month. I don’t really face any big challenges other than the struggle of finding roommates whenever I move. Meal plans are expensive too so I just get groceries. Meal plans are 200+ dollars
