It was close to home and offers a good education. Also, a lot of my friends went there so that was really good. I also like the campus and the social scene. When I visited, it felt like home. Uga is a great place to be.
Course Curriculum
The course curriculum is great. There are a diversity of classes to pick from and the professors are really helpful when you want to choose a path. For example, I wanted to attend law school, so I took classes in criminal psychology.
Exams
I took the following exams for entrance to college: SAT 2400 score, ACT 34 score, LSAT 173 score. I did not take any other exams.
Placement
There are lots of job opportunities through UGA. It depends on what college division you are in though. The business school has the best job placement followed by journalism and public policy/international affairs.
Internship
My college does not provide internships. But there are job boards where outside companies can post internships and students can apply for them. Also, there is some support to practice for interviews with counselors.
Events
Founders day is the celebration of the day that the university was founded. Other events celebrated are related to sororities and fraternities. Also, individual student groups have their own celebrations.
Fees
The fees include healthcare, gym, and a green fee. There are also tech fees. The school does also have a transport fee.
Scholarship
I got some scholarships and no financial aid. The scholarships were from both internal and external sources.
Examination Structure
The exam structure depends on the professor. There are many different exam structures. Some of these include multiple choice, essay, open-ended short response, open book, among other things. There are no guidelines for professors on what to pick.
Faculty
The faculty in my college are great and really supportive. They are willing to help you at office hours and mentor you on special projects. One problem is that there is a large turnover.
Hostel
I stayed on campus for the first year and then in an apartment for the other 3 years. I think this is good so that you can experience more of the town and stuff but stay connected to the school by living nearby.
