- The two-year MA program is designed to provide students with a solid grounding in Philosophy in the broadly analytic tradition. It is well suited to students with a variety of interests: many transfer to a Ph.D. program in philosophy after obtaining the MA, but others go on to further studies in other areas of academia or in law, and others seek to broaden their liberal education through advanced study
- Virginia Tech's M.A. program provides a broad grounding in the history of philosophy, in the analytic tradition in metaphysics and epistemology, and in ethics and value theory, including political philosophy.
