South Dakota State University is one of the largest public universities located in Brookings, South Dakota. SDSU was established in 1881 which was authorized by the Dakota Territorial Legislature. South Dakota State University offers admissions nearly 200 program offerings in its 9 colleges. With a total faculty of 649, SDSU provides the best quality teaching to its students. South Dakota State University is located in Brookings, South Dakota. South Dakota State University is spread across 387 acres. There are over 168 buildings on campus consisting of Academic Buildings, Administrative Buildings, Athletic Facilities, Campus Dining, Campus Landmarks, Museums And Residence Halls. Museum is Located on the west side of campus where several collections of people with an SDSU connection or to the state. Admission is free in the museum.

Housing Facilities at South Dakota State University

SDSU offers multiple on-campus housing options some traditional and some are nontraditional. In SDSU There are fifteen halls to choose from along with university apartments for upperclassmen and Every residence hall is unique. Some of the Residence halls are:-

  • Ben Reifel Hall: it is a co-ed hall for the first-year student with occupancy of 256 residents and all are double room
  • Binnewies Hall: Rooms for almost 500 students with all amenities
  • Brown Hall: it is a co-ed hall for first and second-year students. It has a double room for 380 students.
  • Mathews Hall: it is a co-ed hall for first and second-year students with Window AC Units for 380 students.
  • Honors Hall : it is Co-ed hall with Suite and double room options for 198 students

All the housing facilities are provided with all kinds of amenities that are required for comfortable living such as laundry facilities, kitchen, Television, Wifi and some of them have air conditioning too.

South Dakota State University lets students live off-campus. Students need to have special permission from the institution. SDSU also provides information of all off-campus students housing sites available near by campus. All housing facilities are available at affordable rates.
