As an environmental chemistry major, you'll work with substances and chemical processes to address contamination and pollution as you restore weakening ecosystems, and you'll engage in real research projects that affect our community.
Critical thinking, quantitative reasoning and analytical skills are all necessary to identify, monitor and resolve environmental issues. You will study all five areas of chemistry (organic, inorganic, analytical, physical and biochemistry), with advanced studies in environmental science and chemistry. Beyond the classroom, you’ll participate in lab and field experiences and complete course-embedded research projects.
Our major consists of a curriculum recommended by the American Chemist Society (ACS).
Eligibility & Entry Requirement
Academic Requirements:
- Applicants must submit official transcripts of high school and all previous education
- Official transcripts must be evaluated by a NACES accredited agency
- Submit a letter of recommendation from a teacher, school counselor or community leader who knows you well
- Submitting SAT/ACT scores is optional
- Applicants should also complete an interview
- Submit English Language Proficiency test scores
English Language Requirements:
- TOEFL: minimum 79
- IELTS: minimum 6
