From the masterful counterpoint of J.S. Bach to the contemporary writings of Sydney Hodkinson, all music majors in theory receive thorough training in theories of tonal and contemporary music, counterpoint, orchestration, composition and pedagogy. Outside of our innovative and thorough curriculum, students are given personal attention towards advanced studies in music theory, including one-on-one study for senior research projects.
Eligibility & Entry Requirement
Academic Requirements:
- Submit official transcripts of high school and other education completed
- Official transcripts have to be evaluated course by course by an evaluation agency like WES, SpanTran
- Submit a writing sample on any one topic provided
- Submitting SAT/ACT score is optional
- Submit English Language Proficiency test scores
English Language Requirements:
- TOEFL: minimum 79 in ibt;
- IELTS: minimum 6.0
- Duolingo: minimum 95
