While the B.A. in music provides sufficient preparation for students to enter graduate music degree programs, many intend to pursue a career in another field. It is possible to earn a double major in other academic disciplines, such as chemistry, economics, English, biology, computer science, physics, psychology, and more.
Students interested in pursuing a career in the music business can combine the B.A. Music major with a minor in Management. This program of study provides a solid understanding of the art of music as well as necessary business knowledge to promote a successful career. Those following this program of study can apply for an internship in New York City through the New York Arts Program.
Eligibility & Entry Requirement
Academic Requirements:
- Submit official transcripts of high school and other educational institution attended
- Complete a secondary school report given by the university
- Official transcripts must be evaluated by an accredition agency like WES, SpanTran or ECE
- Submit one recommendation letter from a teacher, coach or supervisor
- Submit one essay
- Students are encouraged to appear in an interview
- Submit a statement of activities highlighting what you are doing since completion of high school
- Submitting SAT/ACT score is optional
- Submit English Language Proficiency test scores
English Language Requirements:
- TOEFL: minimum score of 79 in iBT; 8.0+ in Essentials
- IELTS: minimum score of 6.5
- PTE: minimum score of 53
- MELAB: minimum 91
- Duolingo: minimum score of 110
