Eligibility & Entry Requirement

  • Students should hold a high school degree or equivalent degree from a recognized institution.
  • Students should have an overall minimum course average equivalent to a 50-59% (Second Class) or above on the Indian grading scale on any one of the following Secondary School Leaving Certificates:
    • Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC)
    • Higher Secondary School Certificate (HSSC)
    • Senior Secondary Certificate, Pre-University Certificate, Pre-Degree Certificate
    • Intermediate Examination
    • All India and Delhi Senior School Certificate
    • Indian School Certificate Examination
  • Students must have studied the following courses:
    • 4 units of English
    • 4 units of college-prep/advanced math
      (including trigonometry and/or pre-calculus)
    • 3 units of history or social studies
    • 3 units of lab science
      (one unit must be physics or chemistry, both if available)
    • 2 units of academic electives
      (such as computer science, STEM, engineering, or other college-prep classes, if available)
    • 1 unit of foreign language
  • Submission of English Proficiency Test scores is required.

Along with the minimum eligibility requirements, international students hailing from non-English speaking countries need to prove English proficiency through IELTS/TOEFL/any equivalent test to get admission to this program.

There are two types of visas students need to plan:

F-1:

  • If students are requesting an I-20 for an F-1 visa they are required to submit evidence of the availability of funds for their expenses for the first year only, and also indicate the source(s) of funding for subsequent years.
  • Subsequent years’ funding is indicated by the use of a checkbox on the Rackham Affidavit of Financial Support.

J-1:

  • If students are requesting a DS-2019 for a J-1 visa they are required to submit evidence of the availability of funds for their expenses for the duration of their program.
  • Use the estimated expenses to calculate the total amount they need to certify and provide the required proof of funds. Over 50% of funding must come from sources other than personal funds.
