The BFA degree in Art with a concentration in Studio Art is designed to give studentsstrong technical skills and a art history background while developing an individualfocus in their art. Students develop skills and aesthetic judgment in the materials,tools and techniques within drawing, painting, printmaking, ceramics, or sculpturestudio arts. Art history studies engage students in historic and contemporary artists,and art movements and styles. A background in the visual arts can provide a variety ofopportunities in the areas of studio art, art galleries, and applied design. The degreeculminates in a senior gallery exhibition in the CMU Art Gallery.?
Eligibility & Entry Requirement
Academic Requirements:
- Submit an official transcript from the last high school or secondary school attended
- Official transcripts should be directly sent from the school of the applicant
- SAT/ACT score is optional
- Students not taking SAT or ACT test need to complete placement exams with university’s testing center
- Submit English Language Proficiency test scores
English Language Requirements:
- TOEFL: minimum score of 70 in iBT
- IELTS: minimum band 6
