The Master of Global Affairs (MGA) admits students for enrollment each fall.
The MGA is a full-time professional master's degree and students should expect to complete the degree within two years.
The Master of Global Affairs is a co-sponsored degree between Rice University's Baker Institute for Public Policy and the School of Social Sciences.
The program offers graduate students a professional master's degree that simultaneously requires high standards of scholarship and practical training for careers in government, the private sector, and international organizations.
It is a two-year, 36 credit hour degree program.
The program requires a non-credit-bearing pre-term math boot camp held in the evenings before classes begin.
The first-year core curriculum requires a sequence of 18 credit hours exposing students to a variety of topics in global affairs.
The second year is reserved for the pursuit of an Area of Study, participation in a required internship, and completion of a capstone project.
The program is considered full-time with classes offered in the evening.

Eligibility & Entry Requirement

Academic Eligibility:

Students must hold a BSc or BA degree from an accredited four-year college or university
Excellent critical thinking skills, communication skills, and leadership skills is required.
Applicants must have a minimum 3.0 GPA.
GRE scores are recommended, but not required.
