- The Master of Public Health (MPH) is recognized globally as the primary professional practice degree in the field of public health.
- Public Health is an interdisciplinary field made up of a broad array of professionals in health (dentists, nurses, pharmacists, physicians, and veterinarians), social work, nutrition, environmental science, education, biostatistics, epidemiology, health services, law, urban planning and many other fields. Public health practitioners unite in a common goal of promoting health, preventing disease and injury, protecting the environment, and assuring optimal health services. Efforts are focused on communities and populations.

- The MPH program at the University of Iowa College of Public Health prepares students for public health practice by providing instruction in the five core disciplines of the field: biostatistics, epidemiology, environmental health sciences, health services administration, and social and behavioral sciences. Additionally, students complete a 200-hour capstone practice project in a public health setting.

Eligibility & Entry Requirement
Academic Eligibility:
- Students must hold a bachelor's degree or equivalent degree in a related subject from a recognized university.
- A minimum GPA of 3.0 is required on a 4.0 scale to be eligible for the program.
Indian Eligibility:
Indian students are eligible to apply if they meet one of the following eligibility criteria:
- Students must complete a 4-year undergraduate degree with first class in a relevant field from a recognized institution
- Or, students completed a master's degree with first-class in a relevant field from a recognized institution.
Along with the minimum eligibility requirements, international students hailing from non-English speaking countries need to prove English proficiency through IELTS/TOEFL/any equivalent test to get admission to this program.
