The program has an emphasis in building design and professional practice and offers students the opportunity of selecting elective courses in specialized areas such as building technology, building preservation, architectural history and theory, urban studies and design.
The Master of Architecture also offers dual degree programs with the Master of Business Administration and the Master of Urban Design.
Dual Degree with the Master of Business Administration is for architects or undergraduate architectural students who aspire to middle or executive management positions in architectural practices, or who are interested in starting their own business along with the preparation to enter the profession of architecture by stimulating the growth of technical knowledge and design creativity. It fosters the refinement of design skills acquired in undergraduate programs, also by offering a broad exposure to professional issues and knowledge.
Graduates of this program will be able to:
- Develop an awareness of and sensitivity to international cultures.
- Understand different cultural perspectives, values, customs and traditions.
- Understand the following professional practices: real estate and development, contract and planning law, leadership and ethics, office and finance management.
- Understand western traditions.
- Understand the principles of building programming, including assessment of user needs, review of precedents, an inventory of space requirements, site analysis and review of the relevant laws and standards.
- Increase level of intellectual discourse about architecture.
- Understand design principles and theories of urban design.
- Develop an ability to compare and contrast the perspectives, values, customs and traditions of student`s own culture from those held by other cultures.
- Develop and enhance student's research skills.
- Develop and enhance student's writing skills.
- Develop management and leadership skills; verbal and graphic communication skills;collaborative learning, research and work experiences.
- Understand design and systems integration through a thesis or capstone experience through an array of professional practice and “field” related coursework.
- Develop and enhance problem solving and reasoning skills; an ability to critically analyze information and fundamental design skills. Understand the complexities of environmental design including both technical and theoretical components.

Eligibility & Entry Requirement
Academic Eligibility:
- Students must a bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university to get admission to this program.
- Students require a minimum GPA of 3 on a 4.0 scale for the program.
Indian Student Eligibility:
Indian students are eligible to apply if they meet one of the following eligibility criteria:
- Students must complete a 4-year undergraduate degree with first class in a relevant field from a recognized institution
- Students need to submit minimum GRE exam scores for a better chance of admission.
- Along with the minimum eligibility requirements, international students hailing from non-English speaking countries need to prove English proficiency through IELTS/TOEFL/any equivalent test to get admission to this program.

- GMAT or GRE scores: There is no minimum GMAT score or GPA required for admission to the program.

- GMAT/GRE Waiver Criteria (pending final approval):
- Cumulative GPA of 3.2 or greater in a bachelor's degree, or an awarded graduate degree.
- Two or more years of full-time study in a degree granting program in the United States and successful completion of English, communication and writing intensive courses (international applicants).
- Completed two quantitative courses, such as advanced algebra, statistics or the equivalent with grades 'B' (3.0) or higher.

- Scores: Students have to submit their English language proficiency scores like IELTS, TOEFL, or other test scores and Successful applicants typically provide a score in the 50th percentile.
