?The M.A.T. focuses on classroom practices, such as classroom management, distinguishing it from the?Master of Arts in Education, which includes a greater emphasis on professional writing, research, theory and preparation for Ph.D. studies.
The M.A.T. program is designed primarily for students with a bachelor's degree who desire to earn a credential while working towards a master's degree. Students may also earn the M.A.T. without the credential.
Eligibility & Entry Requirement
Academic Requirements:
- Applicants must have completed a bachelors degree from an accredited university
- Submit official transcripts of all previous education completed
- Official transcripts must contain course by course evaluation and should be evaluated by a NACES accredited agency
- Applicants must have a GPA of 3.0 or equivalent
- Applicant must verify a certificate of clearance from California teacher commission
- Applicants should provide proof of eligibility to complete fieldwork in non-California classroom
- Submit three letters of recommendation from a current employer, professor or supervisor
- Submit English Language Proficiency test scores
English Language Requirements:
- TOEFL: minimum 100 in ibt;
- IELTS: minimum 7.5
- Duolingo: minimum 120
