Saint Martin’s University International Student Admissions

International applicants seeking admission as a first-year student must complete secondary school education. It must be noted that the admission process and requirements for international students slightly differ from domestic applicants. Depending on the visa status, international students must submit the supplementary documents required within the application deadlines.

Visa Process for International Students

International students require an F-1 visa to study in the U.S. The process to apply for a visa is discussed below:

  • The University will issue a Certificate of Eligibility of I-20 which is the main form required to obtain a student visa.
  • Documents to be submitted for I-20 are as follows:
    • Complete I-20 Request Form
    • Copy of passport
    • Evidence of financial support - International Declaration Finance Form
    • Bank statement
  • Once the I-20 document is issued it will be sent to the designated address via mail.
  • Pay your SEVIS fees and print a copy of the payment receipt.
  • Complete an online F-1 visa application.
  • Make an appointment with the U.S. Embassy in your home country and carry all the necessary documents such as:
    • Copy of passport
    • Original I-20
    • Letter of Acceptance issued by Saint Martin’s University
    • SEVIS I-901 fee receipt
    • Proof of health insurance
    • Financial documents
    • Documents that prove intention to leave U.S. after completion of the program.

Applicants must be aware of the application deadlines as late applications are reviewed at the discretion of the program. Admission decisions are mainly influenced by the GPA and personal essay. The University takes at least 2 weeks to send out admission decisions. Accepted students will be notified via the application portal as well as a formal email. After verification of finances, the University will send the form I-20 so that international students can proceed with the visa application process.
