Western Illinois University Admission Deadlines

Western Illinois University International Student Admissions

The admission process for domestic and international students are both conducted online. However, international students have additional requirements and must be careful with their visa process so as to complete it in time.

Admission Requirements:

  • Official transcripts are required from all post-secondary institutions (colleges, universities, training schools) that have been attended by the applicant.
    • All documents must be in English or must be officially translated in English.

English Language Requirements for International Students

International applicants who do not satisfy the ELP requirement must pay a deposit of 4,500 USD before an I-20 is issued. Payment can be made by bank drafts issued from a U.S. bank or wire transfer. The minimum scores required are as follows:

US Visa for International Students

Graduate students are advised to apply for fall or spring intakes as WIU summer courses are offered online only and due to visa regulations, international students on campus can take only one online course per semester to maintain their full-time status.

Overview:

Money and scholarships given were quite a bit of help and also I went on a tour and everyone was so friendly and welcoming. It was a nice community and I liked the set up of the campus and the professors that I met.
