Bachelor of Science [B.S] [Medical Imaging Science - Vascular Technology] From Fairleigh Dickinson University

Vascular Technologists, another title for Cardiovascular Sonographers, assist physicians in the diagnosis of disorders affecting the heart and circulatory systems by use of ultrasound instrumentation. They non-invasively record vascular information such as blood pressure, oxygenation, and circulation throughout the body.

Students in this major are required to receive a "C" or better in all science courses, a "B-" or better in Anatomy & Physiology courses (BIOL1205 and BIOL1206), and maintain an overall 2.85 GPA or higher to be considered for the Rutgers SHP clinical training program. CPR certification is required before beginning clinical training.

Following acceptance to the Sonography program, students will require access to transportation while completing both classwork and clinical training at a variety of clinical sites over a period of 15 months beginning in the Fall of senior year. Tuition and financial aid are available through Rutgers.
