Our students learn by doing. We boast a state-of-the-art facility in Don Anderson Hall and promote a very intimate learning environment. You will be required to DO JOURNALISM while you are a student, ending your time here with a professional portfolio of work that will help you land that first job after graduation. Our students produce magazine and newspaper articles and photographs, on-air reports for radio and television, documentary films, and online multi-media reports. They win the very top awards and scholarships given to college journalists year after year.

Our faculty has a wealth of experience. Each member has at least 10 years of professional experience; most have much more. They’ve worked for daily newspapers, alternative weeklies, radio and television stations, magazines and online news organizations in Montana, the Northwest, around the country and the world. Their contacts are current and deep, which means you’ll have the benefit of landing a great internship or first job after graduation.

We are an accredited school of journalism which means your courses will be current and demanding, your class sizes will be small, and you will have the best equipment and facilities to conduct your work. Ours is an open-door policy, so when you need help, our faculty and staff will be here for you. In addition, we have scholarships, work-study opportunities, and a variety of financial aid packages to help defray educational costs.
