Specializations
- Advertising Track
The advertising track gives you innovative, hands-on experience. How would you like to create an advertising campaign for a real nonprofit organization? Build your portfolio, master the use of social media and learn to think like an entrepreneur. Plus, our strong internship program can give you a head start on your career.
- News Track
The news track prepares you for an exciting professional news career through rigorous instruction in writing, reporting and editing as well as experience in ever-evolving new technologies. News today requires a command of social media, graphic design and the digital environment as well as traditional writing and interviewing skills. You’ll have the opportunity to work on Creighton’s award-winning student newspaper, the Creightonian, as well as write, shoot and edit a documentary as part of the summer abroad Backpack Journalism program.
- Public Relations Track
The public relations track emphasizes writing, strategic thinking, graphic design, event planning and social media. You’ll do projects for real clients and develop a strong portfolio that helps you land internships and jobs. Public relations majors attain internships in athletics, the arts, education, politics and the nonprofit and corporate sectors. This track is also an excellent pre-law major because of its emphasis on writing and advocacy.

Eligibility & Entry Requirement
Application Requirements:
- Submit official transcripts which should include the scale on which you were graded and the English translation, if not in English
- Official transcripts must be evaluated by an credit evaluator which is accredited by NACES, SpanTran is recommended
- Submitting SAT/ACT score is optional
- Submit one or two letters of recommendation written by one of your teacher, counselor, mentor, attesting to your academic and social preparedness at the college
- Submit an essay or personal statement to demonstrate your writing abilities while allowing the admissions committee to know more about yourself
- Submit English Language Proficiency test scores
English Language Requirements:
- TOEFL: minimum 88 in iBT with no section below 20
- IELTS: minimum 6.5 with no section below 6.0
- PTE: minimum 58
- Duolingo: minimum 110
