  • A Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) is a four (4) year degree program that prepares students for careers in nursing and qualifies them for continued academic and professional advancement as health professionals.
  • The BSN curriculum is developed around the School of Nursing and Health Professions Vision, Mission, and Values and a unique conceptual framework. The conceptual framework is layered with transition theory and symptom management and enables the BSN student to develop knowledge, skills and attitudes consistent with the profession of nursing.
  • The BSN program utilizes a hands-on approach to nursing education. Students have the opportunity to strengthen their clinical skills and evaluation techniques by using real-world tools provided by the Clinical Skills Lab and Simulation Center. Class schedules and curriculum are customized to student needs and professional/educational backgrounds.

The tuition is $50000 and they have different levels of academic scholarships depending on your GPA and essay. I have been awarded the presidential scholarship which gives me $10000 per year and it was based on a GPA above 3.5. I have heard that there may be full scholarships given out but those would require at least a 4.0 unweighted GPA and a stellar test score. I believe scholarships may be available for international applicants but I would not be sure of that.

I opted for USF because it had the direct-entry nursing program that I had been aiming for as well as being one of the tops in the nation. There are only a few direct-entry nursing programs in California so USF was a top choice for me. As a low-income student, I was able to apply to a majority of my colleges without fees and USF had already given me an application fee exemption due to my GPA and test scores. In the end, I chose USF from other schools like UC Santa Barbara and Azusa Pacific University because I felt that USF provided me the best of everything and provided me with enough financial assistance to be able to afford the education.
