- The curriculum is continually updated to keep abreast of advances in the engineering profession and industry. Along with the traditional emphasis on fundamental scientific knowledge, current engineering practice using computer design tools is integrated into the curriculum.

You can specialize in an area by taking at least three courses in that area. You can choose the electives you take from your area of specialization or from other areas.
Requirements
To meet the Master of Science in Electrical Engineering (MSEE) degree requirements, you must:
- Complete 33 semester units with a Cumulative Major GPA of 3.0 or better.
- Satisfy the Graduation Writing Assessment Requirement (GWAR).
- Have an overall SJSU GPA of 3.0 or better.
Students can complete the MSEE program with either the Project or Thesis option

Eligibility & Entry Requirement
Academic Eligibility:
- Students must hold a bachelor’s degree from an accredited university in the U.S. or the equivalent of a U.S. bachelor’s degree earned from a recognized institution if the degree was earned outside of the U.S.
- A GPA of 3.0 is required on a 4.0 scale.
