In the junior and senior years, majors take specialized courses in medical microbiology, immunology, microbial physiology, genetics, virology, and cell biology. Students also choose elective courses related to student interests and career goals in close consultation with their faculty advisor. Such goals may include graduate school or professional studies with further training through Clinical Laboratory Scientist (CLS) or Public Health Microbiologist certification programs. Graduates may also pursue post-baccalaureate employment in applied areas such as industrial microbiology, food and dairy microbiology, biotechnology, public health, epidemiology, or medical laboratory technology.
Eligibility & Entry Requirement
Academic Requirements:
- Submit official transcripts of high school and other educational institution attended
- Applicant must have completed the following courses: 2 years of history/social sciences, 4 years of English, 3 years of Mathematics, 2 years of laboratory science, 2 years of a language other than English, 1 year of visual/performing art, 1 year of electives
- Average weighted GPA of class 9-11 will be considered for admissions
- Activities such as work experience, internships, volunteer experiences will be taken into consideration for admissions
- Submit English Language Proficiency test scores
English Language Requirements:
- TOEFL: minimum 80 in iBT
- IELTS: minimum 6.5
