The world continues to use radio and television as two of its main avenues for receiving news and information. Additionally, the Internet and social media play active roles in the way people around the globe receive their news and entertainment. As a TROY broadcast journalism student, you will learn to skillfully navigate these outlets to help deliver news to a rapidly changing audience.

Through your training within TROY?s award-winning Hall School of Journalism and Communication, you will master the art of news reporting, including the interview process and writing for mass media. Within the framework of your degree, you will become a practiced communicator as you combine core broadcast skills with hands-on TV studio and production techniques and experiences. These courses and opportunities will require you to hone your critical thinking skills all while learning to work under pressure and meet deadlines. You?ll have ample opportunities to report, produce and anchor live television newscasts Monday through Friday at TrojanVision, TROY?s state-of-the-art TV production studio.

Eligibility & Entry Requirement

Academic Requirements:

  • Applicant must have graduated from an high school which should be equivalent of an American state high school
  • Applicant must have a minimum GPA of 2.0 for unconditional admission
  • Applicants with less than 2.0 GPA would require to submit SAT/ACT scores
  • Submit English Language Proficiency requirements

English Language Requirements:

  • TOEFL: minimum score of 79 in iBT
  • IELTS: minimum score of 5.5
  • PTE: minimum score of 46
  • Duolingo: minimum score of 48
  • ACT: minimum score of 20 in English
