They deal with theoretical components related to computers and to issues with hardware. Jobs in the field of computer science and computer information systems are in high demand and graduates in these disciplines are prepared for a variety of positions in the field of science, technology, engineering, education, business and more.?
The computer science and computer information systems majors at Valdosta State University prepare students to enter the workforce and many students in the program find part-time jobs in the field while they continue their studies.
Also, the CIS program offers breadth of knowledge by requiring courses in software engineering, database, and networking. A second course in one these areas is required as well as an option to take a third course.
Eligibility & Entry Requirement
Academic Requirements:
- Submit sealed official transcripts from high school or college attended
- Official transcripts must be evaluated by a NACES accredited agency like SpanTran
- Submit SAT (480 in evidence based reading and writing; 440 in Maths) or ACT (17 in English or Reading and 17 in Maths)
- Submit English Language Proficiency test scores
English Language Requirements:
- TOEFL: minimum 69 in iBT; 523 in PBT
- IELTS: minimum 6.0
- MET: minimum 55
- PTE: minimum 53
