Students who pursue a B.B.A degree in International Business at the Langdale College of Business Administration receive a rigorous education that prepares them for careers in a global market. The most popular jobs for international business majors include international finance management, international marketing manager, Foreign Service officer, and operations research analyst.
International Business (IB) is a discipline that deals with how business addresses the needs of customers and institutions in an increasingly global business environment. IB professionals are often responsible for developing and maintaining relationships with a variety of individuals across different time zones, national boundaries, and cultures. They are also aware of the various differences in the conduct of business given the country or culture that they are addressing. Students who graduate with an IB degree find jobs in all different types of industries and environments, whether it is for a U.S. company that deals with international commerce or with overseas companies that require assistance from individuals who have an understanding of multicultural environments.
Students who complete the major in IB will graduate with a Bachelor of Arts degree. The program in international business is approved by the Langdale College of Business, an AACSB accredited business school. All IB majors complete the general education requirements in Areas A through E along with the 18 hours of major prerequisites in Area F before applying for admittance into the business school. Additionally, students will take 18 hours of business core classes along with at 24 hours of international business coursework. These courses, along with 9 hours of a foreign language and 9 hours of cross cultural studies, provide each student with a solid background in IB within a global environment.
