Students may work with unique populations or may specialize in strength training, personal training, or strength and conditioning for athletes.
Students learn how to design and administer appropriate strength, power, flexibility, agility, and cardiorespiratory programs based on clients’ goals, needs and abilities.
Students learn how to administer health appraisals, assess client needs, design and administer appropriate programs such as smoking cessation, blood pressure, weight control, and nutrition counseling.
Graduates work in corporate facilities, fitness centers, hospital wellness programs, community centers, or athletic programs.
HERS students have the option of six majors and one minor. While the emphasis varies, all HERS students learn in state-of-the-art facilities, participate in clinical settings, and have the opportunity to do research in their field. HERS majors have access to the highest possible accreditations and affiliations.
A student choosing to major in Exercise and Rehabilitative Sciences may choose Clinical Exercise Science, Exercise Science, or Movement Science. Each of these programs leads to a Bachelor of Science degree. The programs in Exercise and Rehabilitative Sciences have been designed in accordance with the requirements of the leading national organizations: American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM) and the National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA).
- Students interested in working with cardiac or pulmonary patients in a clinical setting should choose Clinical Exercise Science.
- Students interested in exercise and health programming in a variety of settings such as fitness centers, worksite settings, or athletic programs should choose Exercise Science.

Academic Requirements:
- Submit official transcripts of all previous education completed
- Official transcripts must be translated into english if not in English
- Submitting SAT/ACT scores is optional
- Submit English Language Proficiency test scores
