  • The degree Master of Music is offered by the School of Music with options in music education, performance, composition, theory, music history, and literature, and accompanying.

  • The program's main goal is to provide musical and educational leadership in meeting the challenges of a rapidly changing musical environment while ensuring sound training in traditional areas of study.
  • The program also provides a rigorous performance and academic education for students who qualify for professional careers in music.
  • Students will develop complete musicians, capable of communicating the essence of their art through performance, teaching, the written word and verbal discourse, who are able to assume upon graduation leadership roles in the musical community, regionally, statewide, and nationally, and who are able to pursue advanced studies at other institutions.
  • After completion of all coursework, the student must pass an examination covering the graduate program. This examination is individualized for each candidate’s unique program.

Eligibility & Entry Requirement

Academic Eligibility:

  • A minimum of a four-year U.S. bachelor's degree or international equivalent from an accredited institution.
  • Students should have grades: Minimum 3.0 GPA, based on a 4-point scale
  • Candidates should submit the composition portfolio to the area coordinator
  • Students whose official language is not English are required to submit IELTSTOEFL, or PTE scores. 
  • Applicants should have GRE and GMAT scores (must have been taken within five years).

Required Document List

Following are the required Documents:

  • Resume/CV - This provides a summary of a student's experience and skills.
  • Higher Secondary School Certificate - The certificate provided by the education board after completion of the Higher secondary education.
  • Statement of marks - The marks statement provided by the education board.
  • Letter of Recommendation - This shows who recommended the student to pursue the degree.
  • Statement of Purpose - This is an essay or any written statement written by the student while applying.
  • English Language Requirement - This shows the test score of English Proficiency Exams such as IELTSTOEFL, or PTE, etc.

VISA & Work Study

VISA

International students need an F-1 or J-1 visa to travel to the United States. The university will issue Form I-20 or DS-2019 (as applicable) to students who have been accepted for admission. They will receive the forms once admission is confirmed and can start the visa process.

To obtain the form I-20 or DS-2019, students must submit the following details to the admissions board:

  • Passport copy (photo page)
  • A valid bank statement, presenting funds that can cover education and living expenses
  • Declaration and Certification of Finances

After receiving the I-20/DS-2019, students can apply for the visa to the nearby consulate or embassy.
