Iowa State’s College of Veterinary Medicine was the first public veterinary college established in the United States (1879). The college is a cornerstone of one of the world’s largest concentrations of animal health professionals, with the USDA’s National Animal Disease Center, the National Veterinary Sciences Laboratories, and the Center for Veterinary Biologics.
