Bachelor of Arts [B.A] [Liberal Studies] From Humboldt State University

The courses in the   major at Humboldt State University also satisfy all the general education requirements for Humboldt State. A Liberal Studies major has all the career opportunities of any Liberal Studies major, but in addition, is provided with the background knowledge needed to be an excellent elementary school teacher as well as pass the CSET exam required to get into Multiple Subjects Teaching Credential Programs and Special Education Teaching Credential Programs.

The Liberal Ltudies program is a four-year undergraduate program that provides students with knowledge of the subject matter they are required to teach in elementary schools. After students complete 4/5ths or more of this program they can apply to a Credential Program.

It is necessary for students to take a full academic load to complete the Liberal Studies program in a timely fashion. Students follow the program approved for the academic year in which they entered the program, and they should work closely with the program advisor.
