The Adolescent to Young Adult (AYA) program includes 7 majors: Integrated Language Arts, Integrated Mathematics, Integrated Social Studies, Integrated Science, Earth/Space Science, Life Science and Physical Science. Regardless of the college of the university from which you will graduate, if you wish to be licensed through Ohio University to teach integrated language arts, you must complete the following program and earn passing scores on the Praxis II exams and a Teacher Performance Assessment (TPA). This major prepares you for an Ohio four-year Resident Educator teaching license that qualifies you to teach all social studies courses in grades 7-12
Eligibility & Entry Requirement
Academic Eligibility:
- Students must have an official secondary school transcript to get admission.
- Students are required to maintain at least a 3.0 overall GPA.
Language Requirments:
- Students whose official language is not English are required to submit IELTS or TOEFL scores.
- Students are required to submit an SAT or ACT score to be considered for admission.
International students who currently or will hold a degree from an institution where English is the primary language of instruction, do not need to submit a TOEFL or IELTS score report.
