We offer a program of study for those who have a love of language, literature, and composition as well as a desire to share their pasion with high school and middle school students. An array of courses offers English Education students a blend of classical and modern literature, written and oral skills, and critical and creative approaches to language studies. Students also may participate in a variety of co-curricular opportunities including Sigma Tau Delta English honor society, The Ferris State English Society, The Torch newspaper, the Annual Shakespeare Festival, student-led professional development events, and English language arets community outreach and services.
In addition, the English education program prepares prospective teachers for the challenges of teaching students from a broad range of cultural backgrounds in such diverse educational settings as traditional high and middle schools, vocational-technical centers, alternative and magnet schools and tech-prep programs.?
