The college has connections with the industry I want to be part of. The buildings and facilities were new and the location is easily accessible for me. For some reason, I always wanted to attend RMIT from a young age.
Course Curriculum
I think it is a very practical base and a higher level than most similar courses as it prepares me for the industry and allows me to specialize in specific areas that I may want to pursue as a career. It has the perfect amount of history content and classes that develop my writing and research skills.
Exams
YEAR 12 VCE EXAMINATIONS, GAT. I did not need to take a University level exam to get into the course.
Internship
Yes, I am yet to undertake my internship, however over half of students end up working where they did the internship. I think this is very rare for a University to have such strong connections in the criminal justice industry.
Fees
My classes cost around five thousand dollars a semester as well as my uni service fees. I have HECS, meaning I won't have to pay off this debt until I start earning a full-time wage and it comes out of my pay so I never actually see the money leave my account.
Examination Structure
Not all classes have exams, they have research assessments that allow me to develop strong practitioner skills. These assessments and research reports help me develop studying and research skills, writing skills and critical thinking abilities.
Faculty
The faculty is a very professional and welcoming environment. They do everything to help their students succeed and prepare us for the future. The staff is friendly and approachable.
