Overview
The University of Sydney is among the top ranked universities of the world who delivers some great post graduate courses. The policy to encourage critical and systems thinking in their teaching and research is really timely and most appropriate given the era that we live in. Most importantly, the graduate courses in project management they offer are unique owing to the general subject content that covers a wide range and the industry focus.
Scholarship
Australia Awards scholarship. It's a development scholarship given to people who demonstrate an impact towards the development of the country. Application process is online through the respective country website. For instance, I had to use the AA Sri Lanka website. I had to write an essay regarding the benefits the scholarship would bring for my country as well as for me, the selection criteria of the university and the course I selected, etc.. Additionally, a reintegration plan in which we have to demonstrate how we would use the skills we gained through the scholarship in our professions was also submitted along with the application. After short listing they call for an interview, which is the final hurdle before getting the scholarship.

Overview
I was enrolled in New York University as a Business Technology Management student for 2 years. I was 17 at the time and felt pressured by my parents to go to a well-known university to study the same major they did. In New York, I quickly realized that I did not feel fulfilled doing my major, and struggled a lot with my mental health. Mental health is a taboo topic in my home country, Indonesia, and that fact alone fueled my life goal of helping people, and so I took a special interest in the way our brain functions in hopes of advancing science and medicine that would be useful for people in the future as well as removing the negative stigma on mental illnesses. I decided it was time to take a leap of faith and moved half way across the world to USYD as I heard very amazing things about their science and research faculty. So, here I am studying Neuroscience and Psychology in a university that I love.

I joined it because I wanted to move away from home and to NSW. The local options were also not offering the course of choice at the time. I like the atmosphere of the UoN, it is very laidback and since it is smaller than the major universities - it has more intimately sized classes. However, I love the professionalism and quality that comes when attending a university such as USYD. The overall social experience is much better at UoN but the education drew me to USYD.
Scholarship
At my previous university - The University of Newcastle - I was awarded the FEBE High Achiever Undergraduate Scholarship ($4,000) and the FEBE Relocation Scholarship ($8,000). I did not have to apply for either of them, they were both just granted to me. However, although there was an application process for the relocation scholarship, it was granted to me because, as I was starting university young, they wanted to avoid having any liability in terms of my safety, they flagged my accommodation application and rather awarded me the scholarship to be able to afford rent.
Overview
I chose this university as it has an excellent Computer Science program which ranks in the top 50 universities in the world. It also ranks 4th worldwide in Graduate Employability above the likes of Harvard, Oxford, Cambridge, etc. I also admire the fact that the university is located in close proximity to the CBD, which is the business hub of Sydney.
