My course Applied Computing at University of Windsor is one of the famous and most challenging course available for Masters. Applied computing is non-thesis course which has some benefits if you don't want to pursue any thesis related course as most of the university offers master with thesis only. University offers internship program in the last semester of the course which is beneficial to get good exposure to Canadian work culture

I chose this university as it has an integrated co-op program which helps in getting a full-time job in Canada. It is one of the best universities in Canada as well. Also, there is a better acquaintance with students because of smaller classes, the professors tend to know the students in their classes, by face, and by name.

Ques. Which university should one select in Canada for graduate studies from the following two, University of Windsor or Dalhousie University?

● Top Answer By Swastika Roy on 13 Jan 21

Ans. Ranking wise Dalhousie University is good and the Job opportunity-wise University of Windsor is better, Halifax has more part-time job opportunities and fewer full-time jobs and the pay scale is lower and the tax is higher. As an international student, you might face difficulty with tuition and funding. At Halifax you will get plenty of parttime jobs. Since Halifax is also larger than Windsor, you will have more options. Both universities have good placement with an 85.91% Employment rate of the University of Windsor and 84% Employment rate of Dalhousie University.  The University of Windsor is known for many leading programs like Arts, Humanities, and Social Sciences, Education, Engineering, Graduate Studies, Human Kinetics, Law, Nursing, Business, and Science whereas Dalhousie University is known for its programs like Arts & Humanities, Clinical, pre-clinical & health, Engineering & Technology, Life sciences, Physical sciences, Social sciences, and Business & Economics. QS Graduate Employability Rankings 2020 has ranked only Dalhousie University at #301-500. Selecting a university depends upon your priority. If you want to get a good education go for Dalhousie University but to get settled early in Canada go for Windsor University. Overall Dalhousie University is the potential choice as you can always move to Ontario if you don't find any job in Nova Scotia.Read more

Ques. Which is a better career option, a PGD from a Canadian college or a master's from the University of Windsor (Canada)?

● Top Answer By Tanishk Chandel on 03 Feb 21

Ans. Completing a Master’s degree is definitely a better option for your future from a qualification point of view. University of Windsor is a well ranked institution and offers good courses to their students. A post graduate is more likely to get a good salary job as compared to a graduate. Other factors like diversity, costs, co-ops availability and career goals also matter and are bound to be different for everyone. While Canadian Universities are pretty good, do keep in mind that there are some better than others. Having said that, University of Windsor is a decently ranked university with significant repute as compared to many other Canadian Universities. University of Windsor key stats: There are 3,500 international students amongst the population of 15,000. The acceptance rate of the institution is 65%. Tuition fee for graduate programs is 20,900 to 24,320 USD. Scholarships and bursaries are available but limited in number. With 86-90% employment rate it is not hard to find decent placements and internship opportunities. The highest employment rate was seen in the Computer Science department (95%) and lowest was seen in the agriculture department (84%) which is still pretty good. There are many course specific details required for the admissions. 70% is the minimum percentage required for bachelor’s degree and being an international student you will need to provide good scores for your English proficiency and other exams like GRE/GMAT. Finally, your choice of course should depend on your future goals. So if all the things are favorable to you one can apply to this university.Read more

Ques. What do you suggest between University of Windsor & Ryerson University for MEng in mechanical? In the view of part-time work as well as a job after completing a Master's.

● Top Answer By Ritu Patel on 03 Feb 21

Ans. Both the universities are equally good for mechanical engineering. According to Times Higher Education Rankings 2021 University of Windsor has been ranked #251 and Ryerson University has been ranked #301 for engineering. Here are the pros and cons of both universities: University of Windsor Job after graduation is easier to find in Windsor which can be considered as a better option. The living expenses at Windsor are less and affordable. Part-time job offers are also available. It is offered as a 2 years full-time course so you may feel time and budget restrained. Ryerson University More part –time job opportunities are available in Toronto so plenty of opportunities to support your funds Since it's Toronto, the expenses are also high and you might feel at loss of time and money in spite of working part-time. This program is offered full-time (for 1 year) and part-time for (2 years) so it's pretty flexible and depends on your needs and plans. The program at Ryerson is thesis-based, course-based and has co-op work options. Ques. How is the University of Windsor for doing a master's of engineering for automobiles?

● Top Answer By Vinay Patel on 03 Feb 21

Ans. While it's not the best university out there, it's a good place to go for engineering if you plan to work and later settle in Canada. The University of Windsor is good for doing masters of automobiles engineering. It may not have its name among the top 10 in the lists. This automatically means that you have to work hard to get a job and build a network in Canada. The city also does not have any technical job opportunities, so you will eventually have to travel to some other places. Here’s a general gist of this place: The acceptance rate of the university is 65%. The university was ranked #601 out of 800 universities by The World University Rankings 2020 which means its fairly reputed. Bursaries and scholarships are offered to international students who display talent. 86-90% is the employment rate which is very good. Approximate tuition fee for 16 months is: 20,900 to 24,320 USD. The city is quite calm and composed. It has less expenditure in housing and insurance. The city also has a good transport system throughout the city. If you can work hard for yourself, then this university is good for doing masters.Read more
