Visa Process for International Students

In order to study abroad, international students will have to apply for a study visa to study in Canada, which will be issued by the Canadian Government. The application form can be obtained from the Canadian Embassy, Consulate, High Commission or Immigration Office. The process must be initiated well before the deadline so that the procedure is complete before arrival at the University. There are some common documents that are mandatory for all international students.

• Valid passport
• Official letter by the University
• Health Insurance
• Passport size photographs
• I -20 form
• Financial documents like bank statement

Possession of minimum requirements does not guarantee entry; international applicants are individually assessed on a case-by-case basis. Hence first-year international applicants must have high grades in post-secondary English and Math. The grades acquired by international students are going to be converted to the Canadian equivalent for admission consideration. Academic requirements vary with the chosen subject and hold an important place when the application is assessed. Therefore, it is recommended that international students check their specific document requirements.

The university is strict about its submission timings hence all the documents must be submitted prior to the deadline to avoid any last-minute hassles. The university sends out acknowledgment mail to confirm receipt of the application. The online student administration system will provide a list of documents to be submitted and its deadline. If accepted, a student is notified through the OUAC account and also sent an email and offer package via mail from the University. It is necessary that students accept their offer within the stipulated deadline to reserve a seat.
