One of the best universities in plant Science for Canola research.
Course Curriculum
It is really one of the best research experiences in Canola Genomics.
Exams
My score: IELTS 6.5. In addition to IELTS, it is expected to have publications from your Master's Thesis as the first author. If you have M.Sc (Thesis based) and dedication to research then there are fair chances to meet the requirements of the Department.
Placement
There is no such system for placement. It is really good if they initiate a placement system. However, it is not working because there is a package system. In Canada, experience is key to lending your job. If you have Canadian experience they will hire you and based on performance, you can grow. For those who don't have experience, start any entry-level job (any means literally any), gain experience, and make connections. It will help you to get the job tomorrow.
Internship
No, I haven't yet.
Fees
It will be $7000/year for the first two years of Ph.D. and then there will be continuation fees. However, the fee structure will not help students to decide on courses. Because it is solely based on research; you can not pay fees and get admission. In addition, there is no FIXED number of years for graduation, it may range anywhere from (four to seven years) as a full-time Ph.D. student.
Scholarship
Graduate Enhancement Tri-Council Scholarship (GETS Scholarship), 23000/year for three years, once you are selected only Professors are allowed to apply for you based on your performance.
Faculty
There is good balance between faculty students (1:5) ratio. They are leading researchers in their area of research work in Canada.
Campus Life
There are plenty of resources available to explore different types of extracurricular activities on campus.
Hostel
Majority of students will go for rental apartment; mostly sharing basis.
