I chose UBC because of its high ranking for psychology, which is the subject I intended on pursuing. The beautiful and diverse campus was also a factor in my decision.
Course Curriculum
I like the fact that UBC offers a wide variety of courses and there's a lot of flexibility as far as choosing courses is concerned.
Faculty
I'm in the faculty of Arts, they do offer a lot of support to students like Arts Academic Advising but it's not always very flexible.
Placement
Since we have opportunities like Co-Op, I would say that the post-study placement opportunities are quite good.
Accommodation
Yes, I have. I'm still on the waitlist for housing for the upcoming academic year but I really liked my time in my first-year residence. I had a single room, so I was able to get some privacy. The community feeling in my residence was amazing.
Exams
For my application, I had to write a bunch of essays, which included a description of my co-curricular activities. I also had to submit my academic transcripts and IELTS score. No, I did not have an interview, I only had to write essays.
Events
The libraries are great and there are a lot of extracurricular activities and opportunities for involvement on campus. I really enjoyed my time in my on-campus residence but the food in residence wasn't the best and as a vegetarian, I didn't have a lot of options.
