Gaurav Chaand Review at The University Of British Columbia [UBC], Vancouver | Collegedunia

I am happy to give my experience about University of British Columbia.

GC
7.7 /10

I love Vancouver as a city plus the number of job opportunities plus the ability to obtain PR easier as compared to other countries.

Course Curriculum :

It's very different from school. Courses and academics in the university have made me a more proactive learner and made me more aware of the world around me. The subjects are more practical based than theory and that's something I really admire.

Exams :

I had a video interview for the business school. I had to submit a bunch of essays for UBC in general and then also had to write essays for the Sauder School of Business. I did not have to submit a CV or LoR. They only asked for my grades and essays, along with a video interview. Yes, there was just one round of video interviews, however, it wasn't interactive. There were pre-recorded videos that I had to answer in a video format.

Placement :

Internship :

Not yet

Fees :

50K

Scholarship :

I did not receive any scholarship

Faculty :

All faculty members are really really good, they are really experienced in their field and they know exactly what they are doing. They teach really well and help you grasp concepts in unique ways. There's a diverse teaching faculty and I find that really nice because all profs teach differently and there's so much to learn from people coming from different backgrounds.

Hostel :

I do live on campus. It costs around 10K CAD per year. It's really convenient to stay on campus as classes are really close by. Also having friends and roommates close to you makes you feel less homesick. The infrastructure overall is amazing and there's everything you need right at your doorstep
