The course curricula and academics are top-notch at UWaterloo. There are hundreds of courses to choose from in various subjects, along with different levels of the same course available at different difficulties in order to cater to all kinds of students. The flexibility in choosing different subjects allows students to pursue subjects in some level of depth that they never thought they could or would. For example, I never thought that I would study French and Economics, but I have taken up courses in both these fields this semester and the next, and am enjoying learning about them so far. There are options for students to pursue research at an undergraduate level like the Undergraduate Research Opportunity program, etc. As for industrial exposure, the co-op component of my program checks that box.
Roughly CAD 31,000 / semester * 8 = CAD 248,000, so around CAD 250,000 or Rs.1.45 Cr (as of March 2021) for my program (excluding scholarships).
Yes, it is very updated and gives the opportunity to participate in several engineering activities- coop, research, competition.
27000 CAD per study term.
The course syllabus is quite up-to-date. There are relevant courses in each topic based on whether you want to focus on industry or research.
8000 CAD (including tuition and extra fees)
As this is my first term, I am doing 3 courses that are very updated with the current industry scenario. As I am doing specialization in AI/ML, there is a particular set of courses that I need to complete. There are some subjects in the curriculum that provides research experience.
My program length varies from 1 to 2 years. This depends on the number of courses you take each term. Each year has 3 terms and each term's tuition fee is around CAD 14 to 15k.
Course curriculum is according to industry requirements
45k - 60k CAD
The curriculum is updated and quite relevant to current times.
25 lakhs for the whole program
Highly Academic. You will have to learn 80% of the course yourself and not expect Profs to teach and spoon-feed you. That being said there are a lot of resources, including profs themselves to help you on that. Every question gets answered and Profs take time and confirmation of understanding before proceeding. There will be a pressure of assignments and there is no like getting answers from the internet. One will have to invest time and mental effort to complete those.
Tuition is approx 14,000 CAD for my program per term and you can finish the program in 3-6 terms depending upon the number of courses you take per term. For full-time students, they can take min of 2 and max of 3 courses per term. For the degree to be completed, you need to finish 8 total courses. The 14,000 includes tuition, for campus fees and student health insurance.
