  • The Master of Architecture program at Carleton University is a professional degree program that is accredited by the Canadian Architectural Certification Board (CACB) and the Royal Architectural Institute of Canada (RAIC).
  • The program is designed for students who have an undergraduate degree in architecture or a related field, and who are interested in pursuing advanced studies in architecture.
  • The program is a three-year, full-time program that provides students with a comprehensive education in architecture theory, design, and practice.
  • Throughout the program, students will have the opportunity to work on a range of design projects, collaborate with industry partners, and participate in design studios, workshops, and seminars.
  • The curriculum is structured to provide students with a strong foundation in architectural theory and history, as well as the technical skills needed to create innovative and sustainable architectural designs.
  • Students will also have the opportunity to specialize in areas such as digital fabrication, sustainable design, or urban design.

Academic Requirements Applicants must have a four-year undergraduate degree in architecture or its equivalent with a minimum academic average of B+ or better in major subjects and B- or better overall
English Language Proficiency Score IELTS - 6.5 | TOEFL iBT- 86 | PTE – 60

  • Statement of Intent (Reasons or intentions for pursuing studies in this program, including a description of prior experience)
  • Two Letters of Reference (it is recommended that at least one recommendation letter should be from an academic person who has supervised the student's work and assessed his/her performance)
  • Academic Transcripts with full details of subjects studied and grades/marks obtained
  • A current resume or CV (Outline of academic achievements and/or awards, publications, relevant work, and/or volunteer experience)
  • Writing Sample (Applicants are required to provide a writing sample of up to 5 pages in length, from previous coursework or publications)
  • Preference Form (Some departments require students to fill in a preference form that will ask to outline their preferences for the program specialization, research area, or faculty supervisor)
  • English language proficiency test score
  • Creative Portfolio (The portfolio may contain up to 16 pages of content, in either a single or two-page spread)
