- The Master of Arts in Communication program at Carleton University is a two-year, full-time program that provides students with a comprehensive understanding of communication theory, research, and practice.

Eligibility & Entry Requirement
Academic Eligibility:
- Students must have a 4-year bachelor’s degree in a related field from a recognized institution.
- The related fields include a UG degree in Marketing, Finance, Arts, Science, Government, Retail, Manufacturing.
- GPA of at least 3.0/4.33 (B grade) which is the equivalent of 8.0/12 on Carleton’s scale is required to be eligible for the program.
Work Experience Eligibility:
Students must have a 2-years of professional work experience to apply for the MBA program.
Others:
Students without related academic experience or work experience students are also encouraged to apply, given they fulfil the following requirement:
- Students who do not possess 2-year of professional work experience must complete the Internship portion of the MBA program.
- Two academic recommendations from professors are required unless the candidate meets the work experience criteria.
Indian Student Eligibility:
Indian students are eligible to apply if they meet one of the following eligibility criteria:
- Completed of both a Bachelor’s (3 years) degree and a Master’s degree.
- Or, completed a Bachelor’s degree requiring 4 years of study (e.g., B.Pharm., M.B.B.S, or B.Arch).
- Or, obtain a first-class division (75% or above, Distinction or Outstanding).
- Or, complete 3-year UG from an institution accredited by either AACSB, EQUIS or AMBA.
Submission of GMAT scores is compulsory for this program, however, students may submit a GRE score too in lieu of that.
Along with the minimum eligibility requirements, international students hailing from non-English speaking countries need to prove English proficiency through IELTS/TOEFL/any equivalent test.

- CV/Resume: Outline of academic achievements and/or awards, publications, relevant work, and/or volunteer experience.
- Transcript: A PDF copy of all post-secondary transcripts within the application or in Carleton Central.
- Two Letter of Reference: Referees (Teachers, guidance counselors, or Professors) should comment on academics and that references should submit along with the application system.
- Statement of Intent: Explain the reasons or intentions for pursuing studies in this program, including a description of prior experience.
- Writing Sample: Students applying for a job, internship, may be asked to provide a writing sample that allows an employer or graduate program to judge student ability to convey a written message.
- Aptitude test results: Used to make inferences about competencies, capabilities, and future performance on the job of the students.
- Preference Form: Some departments require students to fill in a preference form that will ask to outline their preferences for the program specialization, research area, or faculty supervisor.
- ELP Scores: Students have to submit their English language proficiency scores like IELTS, TOEFL, or other test scores.
