The Master in data science program is quite well-curated by combined computer science and statistics experts with input from local industry. As such the curriculum enabled me to learn in detail about descriptive and prescriptive techniques. I also acquired the skills to extract and analyze data from both unstructured and structured forms, uncover insights, and learn to effectively communicate their results with stakeholders.
The total tuition fee for my program was around $44,000. I was required to pay the tuition amount in three instalments which came down to around $15,000. Along with this, I also had to pay around $3,000 as a continuing fee. I also had to pay around $1000 as a student services fee and around $270 for health plan charges.
Course is really interesting and is recommended of someone like me.
The University of British Columbia is one of the most oldest and prestigious universities. The only deal behind making my choice was placement is good for this university.
The course curriculum is somewhat hard. Many online reviews have compared the degree of difficulty of the courses in UBC to that of other institution, and UBC (School of Sauder) is one of the hardest ones with less than 2% of students scoring above 90%. Personally, I do not find this to be the result of the course itself being hard, but the grading criteria being strict.
I have heard a lot about the University. Their representatives have visited us many times. UBC also offers a "testing" online learning session where students would get to be a part of the program for several sessions. This has allowed me to fully experience how my class would feel like if I were an official UBC student. UBC also offers many clubs activities and are especially good in helping students find jobs and internships.
I find some of my classes really interesting. But there are also some courses that I feel really intensed which have heavy workloads.
The location of the university (Vancouver) I attended high school in Vancouver and I was familiar with the city. Also, UBC Sauder school of business is well-known and has a good reputation.
The course curriculum and academics are very easy to understand. Our entire curriculum is properly divided into parts so that the students don’t feel pressured while doing university work. There are professional professors teaching all the subjects and it is overall a very nice learning environment.
I chose this university as its business school had a very good rating and it has one of the most beautiful campuses in the world
Good, nice expletive and research. Good exposure. Interesting classes
Course reputation, location, ranking, convenience and safety, specialization options, the opportunities provided
The topics are easy when understood but tremendous workload.
First, renowned business school. Second, the weather and location
Course syllabi are always updated and relevant to the class and professors do a great job of teaching. Lots of research experience in my major is provided in years 2 and 4
This university had the program I was interested in and was the most reputable university close to where I lived. I did not want to move too far.
I think that the course curriculum is actually quite manageable especially if you did IB, then it is actually quite easy.
I chose Sauder because it's the best business school in Canada and it also has a relatively lower price than other universities of this caliber, especially for international student.
The course syllabus is very updated. We had a lot of practical experience in our classes. It is more based on actual learning than memorization. We get to have a lot of group projects and interact with our peer's which makes it for a very well rounded experience.
Good business program, diverse community, large and well funded school, great location
