Acharya Institute of Technology - [AIT], Bangalore - Placement Details and Companies Visiting

Someone I know attended the institute and her experience was not that good. 

The majority of the degree holders from this institute and similar institutes are shifted to the position of clerks in the companies based on services; companies that are under the officials of the institute. This happens because there is no concept of placement in such institutes.

The Acharya Institute of Technology is a four-tier institute and as it is usual for four-tier institutes in India, this institute also holds pool campus placements.

Placement is only a possibility when an engineering company is in need of engineers who are skilled and look for such individuals in different colleges, often offering packages of 60 LPA to the successful candidates.

Most degree holders from four-tier colleges work as clerks in the services-based companies with a package of about 2-3 LPA. 

Acharya Institute of Technology has NAAC and NBA accreditation and the institute is affiliated with VTU. The institute offers a BE program for Automobile Engineering. Automobile Engineering includes designing, manufacturing, vehicle engineering, vehicle electronics, quality management, etc.

• Students should have 45% in their 10+2 with PCM to be eligible for application.

BMS Institute of Technology and Management (BMSIT) is affiliated to Visvesvaraya Technological University, Belagavi. It is ranked 169 for BTech by NIRF 2020. It is set by BMS Educational Trust and is recognized by AICTE and NBA. They have 162 faculty members. 

Acharya Institute of Technology (AIT) is affiliated to Visvesvaraya Technological University, Belagavi with a faculty strength of 300 members. The student population is 4,432 across all the departments. It is an autonomous institution recognized by UGC and AICTE.

• 91 companies participated in the placement program.
• 430 offers were made wherein a total of 345 students were placed.
• The top recruiting companies include Reliance, Byju’s, Wipro, Capgemini, Dell, Fidelity, L&T, MindTree, Mu Sigma, etc.
• Students opting for Telecommunication Engineering can work as Electronic and Telecommunication Engineer, Accounts Executive, Telecom Engineer, Software Engineer, Telecom Security Engineer and many more.

AIT 

• 35 companies visited the campus wherein 194 students were placed.
• Some of the recruiters include Infosys, Pingala, HSBC, Byju’s, OG Healthcare, TCS, Wipro, HP, etc.
• CSE graduates can work as System Database Administrator, Computer Programmer, Engineering Support Specialist, Software Developer, Software Engineer, Lecturer or Professor, Computer Operator, Research Analyst, etc.

Facilities 

BMSIT 

• They have a student strength of more than 3206 students.
• They provide separate boys and girls hostels.
• Their food court can accomodate 200 students at a time.
• They provide transportation services and indoor and outdoor sports facilities.

AIT

• They have a student strength of 4423 students across all departments.
• Their campus area is 120 acres.
• They have 12 hostels, 5 for boys 7 for girls accommodating 1500 students all over.
• They have 1175 computers in total.
• They also provide sports, medical and library facilities.

CSE will be a better choice than Telecommunication Engineering because there is a constant demand for computer engineers in today’s rapidly growing corporate industry. CSE is the most in demand engineering course. Due to its scope and popularity it is better to choose CSE for moving your career ahead. But students interested in pursuing Telecommunication Engineering can always go for that.

Usually, finding a job in a core company right from the campus itself takes a lot of effort, time, and skill. Along with these, there should be some help from the college itself, like MOUs with specific industries and skill development programs for the industry readiness of the student.

If all these things go in your favor then landing in a core company isn’t too difficult as it seems. But in reality, there are not many colleges that provide such opportunities. And for a branch like mechatronics, it’s quite difficult to find a college good in placements in that branch.

Speaking of Acharya Institute of Technology (AIT) here, it’s no different. Campus placements do happen but not specific to the Mechatronics branch. The companies which usually visit campus are mass recruiters, IT service-based companies, and Marketing and sales companies. A student who has pursed Mechatronics with a lot of aspiration to work in Core Company wouldn’t like to get into an IT of marketing-related jobs.

Keeping these things in mind, it’s good to tell that, there are no Mechatronics related placements at AIT. But if one is determined enough, he/she can always look for an internship in Core Company and later convert it into a full-time opportunity. The standard of education at AIT will make sure that you have specific skills that will land you in a job sooner or later

Acharya Institute of Technology provides good placements within the ECE department. Mostly the IT companies visit very often and recruit ECE students only. Around 90 - 95% of the eligible students get placed. And many students get off-campus placements too.

Placement Stats - ECE (2021):

Students have a relatively higher chance of getting placed if their aggregate score is maintained above 60% and they have good knowledge and communication skills. Since multiple companies visit the college during recruitment drives, all students have to do is appear for these campus interviews and perform exceedingly well by giving it their best shot.

The institute observes a good blend of ECE core companies as well as IT companies, for students who may be interested in getting into the software sector.

• The institute observes a high number of companies as part of its recruitment drive for jobs and internships.
•  Being located in Bangalore, students will also have to be very proactive about seeking jobs.
• Many institutes conduct open drive opportunities for students to interact with and gain access to representatives from top companies. 
• Apart from that, there are also multiple online portals like Elitmus and others that help students and guide them through recruitment processes.
• In order to be eligible for this, you will have to appear for a separate examination and score good marks in it.

This information is for AIT and institutes that are similar in ranking to AIT. However, the faculty and placements of the institute cannot be compared to others like RV or MSRIT.
