My course is B.Tech in Instrumentation and Control Engineering. The curriculum at WBUT is very good and the college is excellent.
Some good networking should be done beforehand with seniors or resourceful person to secure good internships.
Many renowned companies approach our college, such as Wipro, Tata Steel, and many others.

Dislikes

The computer in the lab didnt operate properly. The faculties are unfriendly and give poor marks in internal assessments. In this college, a student is judged solely based on their attendance.
The average package provided here is 10k Rupees. The percentage of students getting placement is below average, with only 2 or 3 students getting placement. Additionally, the college also engages in fake placements.
I was under the WBFS scholarship scheme, so I only had to pay $2k per semester.

CIEM Kolkata Placement

The Placement Cell (IIP & TTC) of CIEM follows an internationally accepted Training Module with an aim to enhance the employability of the students by conducting specialized programs in Career Planning, Career Mapping, Personality Development, Interpersonal and Communication Skills along with Group Discussions and Mock Interviews. The T&P office organizes career guidance programmes for all the students starting from 2nd year.

Calcutta Institute of Engineering and Management is pleased to witness the upward trend in placement since 2007 in terms of number of offers, annual package and number of recruiter’s participation in placement drive. Regardless of various challenges due to Covid-19 pandemic situation during the AY 2020-2021, CIEM students got the opportunities from around 90 companies across various domains.

Some of the major recruiters in AY 2020-2021 are TCS, Cognizant, Capgemini, BYJU’s, Alight solutions, CloudKaptan, eQ technologic, QualityKiosk, BMW industries, Deloitte, Hexaware, PlanetSpark.
The highest annual CTC received by students is INR 20 LPA.
