Dr. MV Shetty Institute of Technology (MVSIT) was founded by Dr. M. V. Shetty Memorial Trust (1985).The Trust is dedicated to impart quality education in the field of health sciences and rendering health services. Now the trust is giving technical education to the rural needy people has started an Engineering College at Thodar, Moodabidri, Mangalore.

Library- The library has 7276 volumes of books and 2252 titles. It has subscribed 47 national and 21 international journals. The library has reading room with capacity of 150 students.

Seminar Hall- The College has an air conditioned seminar hall with capacity of 150 students.

Computer Lab- In the Programming lab, there are 362 P4 terminals with all necessary software and highly equipped and configured with latest technology. The college has internet facility with 2 mbps leased line from BSNL.

Hostel- The College provides the separate hostel facility for both boys and girls at Mangalore and Moodabidri. The hostel is available only for 1st year students.
