K. J. Somaiya College of Engineering is a constituent college of the prestigious Somaiya Vidyavihar University (UGC approved) and was established in 1983. K J Somaiya College of Engineering offers various scholarships to deserving candidates. The scholarships are provided in the form of tuition waivers and a candidate can avail of only one scholarship. The scholarship provided to the students shall be based on the documents provided to the college and any discrepancy in documents will lead to forfeiture of the scholarship. The college has recently launched a special scholarship for B.Tech Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering & Mechanical Engineering students. It is a merit-based scholarship in the range of INR 1 Lakhs to INR 2 Lakhs per year. The following parameters will be considered for selecting the candidate under this scholarship:
- Academic Performance: The candidate must have scored a minimum of 75% marks in Class X and at least 65% marks in Class XII to be eligible for this scholarship.
- Performance in Entrance Examination: The table below shows the cutoff criteria based on which admission is sought to the college:

What branch can I get in SP or KJ Somaiya with 140 in the MH CET 2022?
You can get any branch at KJ Somaiya with 140 in MH CET 2022, if you have Gujrati minority. But if you are a general category student, getting branches like CSE/IT will be difficult with 140 scores. These are among the most opted branches and KJ Somaiya Cutoff remains above 150-160 for CSE/IT (general category).
How much percentage of marks is needed to get a 9+ CGPA in KJ Somaiya College of Engineering (Since it has become autonomous)?
KJ Somaiya does not follow a relative grading system.
Before answering your question let's discuss how to calculate the grade of a particular subject. Every subject has its own credits which are preassigned (1,2,3 etc.). For example

- If you scored 90 in math 1, then you'll get a 10 grade point ( anything above 85 gives you 10 grade points).
- The next step is to multiply the grade point and credits (ie. 10*4=40).
- Next add up the results for all the subjects.
- Calculation of CGPA= Added result of all subjects/maximum possible grade point*credit total.
So we can say that securing a 9+ pointer is fairly easy in the First Year at KJ Somaiya. All you need is an average of around 80-85% in semesters and you'll be above the 9-pointer mark.
